What I made today...I'm glad to be inside because we are having a heat wave! UGH!!! Sewing in the AC suits me fine! This was fun- I had all the fabric here. Took awhile to decide what to line it with but Claire likes dogs and I thought this green just gave it a kick and the button matches the green just right!

Just finished! I found this fabric at a local antique shop and had to have it. We host the Columbus Carriage Classic, a pleasure driving competition, here in Columbus WI every summer- this year Aug. 22-24. I made this for a dear friend for her birthday. The fabric is a Waverly- called "They're Off". Don't know what year it was made. I got a good sized chunk of it and will make some more totes and maybe pillow, too!

We are having record rainfall and storms...this just happened about 30 minutes ago in our next door neighbor's yard. It fell in just the right place! Nothing and nobody got hurt!

Some of the excitement here at the Gallery...we are the scene of the Green Castle bank robbery. They spent all day, Tuesday March 18th, filming this scene...the gang coming out of the bank after robbing it. Can you spot Johnny on the car? We did get to meet him very briefly- he is very gracious. They finished up the filming here last night-or should I say early this morning (3am) We will miss them!

Our Bea

This is our Bea-short for Beatrix-she was an English Shepard- the good old farm dog. She passed on March 14th from kidney failure. She was the BEST dog ever-never ran away, never barked except in a thunderstorm)loved everyone, stayed in our yard with no fence! We miss her but know she is at peace now. This was taken on one of her best last days- she loved to be outside and would only come in at night. She was 14 years old.

Universal Studios is filming in our town!!!! The movie is "Public Enemies" starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard. My Gallery which is housed in the former First National Bank is in a scene, we get "robbed'. Johnny will be running out the doors!!! He will be in the building- how lucky is this?

Johnny Depp in Columbus!!!!!

OK- I have to post this...Johnny Depp is coming to Columbus and will be filming for the movie Public Enemies. One of the scenes will be shot in my Gallery!!!! The Gallery was once a bank and will be a bank again- although the scene will be shot from the outside- Johnny will run out of the front doors, get into a car and be drive away. I'm not sure yet if we are being robbed but I'll let you know as soon as I know.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY

Up early to walk the dog and then get cooking!!! I will put up some pictures of the cooking madness later when my daughter gets up and helps me download them on this computer...the never-ending battle with this one! (the computer, not the daughter) We did get about an inch of snow last night...it looks so pretty on the ground!

OK- I am going to try to keep this up a bit more regularly!! I'm not very comfortable doing this- don't think I have anything anyone would be interested in but I love reading others blogs and so here I go....

Enjoying the day here at the Gallery- hope to get at some sewing before the mad rush of cooking tomorrow for Thanksgiving. My dad and brother will come up and the kids are coming home from college today. After having the house so quiet for awhile it will be interesting and hopefully fun! We never know!

The most recent project was a custom diaper bag. The baby came early so I'm glad it was done. The mom is very happy with it so I am glad!

I made this for a dear friend. These are her grandmother's hankies. I framed each hanky with colors that were in the hanky to make the blocks all the same size. It's like a rainbow! Another friend quilted it- with a different pattern in each block! I only do the piecing...after that I have no more creativity left and she's so great at it, I just leave it up to her!
